In these uncertain, rather chaotic, & oft-times dark times; a creative counter power rooted in imagination is more essential than ever. In a world that can feel humorless & hellbent upon destruction; creative works, expressions of love, & shared moments of humor, become radical anarchic acts in & of themselves.

It is in this spirit in which I am hard at work in the studio on a new series of works: “From Santa Fe to Sao Paulo to Sicily: The Sublime” . The Sublime is defined as an exalted quality in art, nature, or humanity, that inspires a sense of awe or reverence for its beauty or grandeur. My new subjects all embody the Sublime: breathtakingly lovely Sicilian saints who were tortured for defying the institutions, family, & patriarchy of their times in order to remain true to their inner core; Tangueros rebelling against the status quo & reward system of our modern age to pursue a path of high level tango dancing; & barrio born & raised Diego Maradona with his Hand of God goal who rose to become the greatest futbol player of all time…to name a few…
